Residential Care Housing for Youth (Townsville)
Young people in residential care live in houses with Miya Youth Workers and up to three other young people, creating a homely environment in which young people are supported to heal from past trauma and prepare for their transition back home or into adulthood.
Young people in residential care can have complex needs and are generally aged between 10 and 17. Many have experienced child abuse, neglect, or violence and because of this trauma are some of our most at-risk children and young people.
Miya Services has partnered with APR Care an NDIS provider to deliver residential care services in Townsville.
APR Care supports individuals living with disabilities by providing exceptional care and accommodation, enhancing the well-being and independence of NDIS participants. Their mission is to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where individuals can reach their full potential. They offer personalized services tailored to meet individual needs.
Miya Services and APR Care will: Provide a broader range of services to children and youth under state care, enhance support for individuals living with disabilities and foster an inclusive environment promoting well-being and independence.
